I have been involved in many other activities besides marching band as well, there are so many opportunities in college and the memories you make have a lasting impact. Hey! My name is Em and I’m the Vice President for the 2026-2027 GSMB. I’m an Art Education major with a minor in Theatre Arts and I play the trumpet. I’ve been in the band going on 5 years now and joining has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. My time in the Gold Star Band has built me up into the person I am today and I am so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had here! I can’t wait to see what we can do in the coming season! Go Bison!!

Hi! My name is Caitlyn Burghard, and I am excited to be this year's Secretary and one of this years drum majors! I am a previous member of the color guard and was the section leader this past season! I have been involved in bands since 4th grade, but I only recently found my love for color guard during my senior year of high school. The GSMB has only furthered my love for band and the people. I have made so many lifetime memories and friends during my years with the GSMB, and I am excited to see how many more I will make in the years to come. Outside of the GSMB, I am also involved in NDSU's Western Swing Dance Club as an instructor as well as the Emergency Management Student Association (EMSA). Hey! I’m Joey, a Percussionist and Music Education student. I’ve served as the Public Relations Representative for the last 2 years and been in the band for 3 amazing seasons. Music is my life and passion. I’ve been in Marching Band since 6th grade playing every instrument in the Drumline family. In addition, I’ve performed as a High School Drum Major and was contracted to perform with the DCI World Class Seattle Cascades. Being chosen to serve my peers has been an absolute honor and I’m pumped to see where our amazing program goes from here.
